Program Statement
The philosophy and goal of our “Residential Living for Adults with Developmental Disabilities and the Frail Elderly” is to provide, in an individualized and dignified atmosphere, a program that contributes actively to the well-being of the residents. Each person has the right to participate in all aspects of life, and each should be able to contribute to society to the fullest extent possible. The environment of the residential living program is geared toward creating a healthy atmosphere and fostering as much independence as possible.
Support Services provided by the Program Manager and assigned caregivers will include:
- 24-hour awake staff
- Daily meals
- Coordination of social services
- Referral and support services
- Assistance with healthcare needs
- Medication management
- Recreational activities
- Housekeeping and laundry services
- Private sleeping accommodations
It
is our belief that services must be provided in a personal, tolerant and understanding manner. This service makes every effort to meet the needs of the resident- physically, socially and spiritually. The program has strong community relationships and believes in fostering full family involvement whenever
possible.
Admission and Residency Criteria
- Resident shall be self-admitted or admitted by a guardian.
- Resident must be willing to receive assistance with activities of daily living.
- If a person becomes ill, he/she cannot require more than three hours of personal care per day for more than a period of 14 days. When such care becomes necessary, the resident must have a medical diagnosis within a 24-hour period of the onset of the illness. The care given during this period must be under qualified medical direction.
- The resident cannot receive injections, other than pre-measured insulin.
- Residents who cannot self-administer medications will receive necessary supervision, which may include written doctor’s orders for both prescribed and over-the-counter drugs. Medications will be administered per doctor’s orders.
