Why Help Volunteers of America, Wisconsin?

We are Recognized For Our Credibility

Volunteers of America, Wisconsin is a member of a stable and long standing national organization which has earned a 4-star rating (the highest rating possible) for sound fiscal management from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent evaluator of charities.

This is an increase from last year’s three-star rating and marks the third time in seven years we have received this coveted four-star award.

Only one-quarter of all the charities evaluated by Charity Navigator receive this highest rating, indicating that Volunteers of America outperforms the majority of nonprofits in America with respect to fiscal responsibility. According to Charity Navigator President Trent Stamp, “Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that your organization excels, as compared to other charities in America, in successfully managing the finances of your organization in an efficient and effective manner. This rise in your rating is an exceptional feat, especially given the economic challenges many charities have had to face in the last year.”

In addition, two national magazines, Smart Money (published by The Wall Street Journal) and Worth, (the highly respected national personal-finance magazine), rated Volunteers of America as one of the nation’s best and most efficient charities. Worth, included Volunteers of America among its 100 best charities in the December 2002 issue. The magazine, in an article headlined “To Give Well, Give Wisely” said it “set out to identify those charities that are doing the best job, dollar for dollar”.
